YumYam is real Filipino ube (purple yam), gently dried and milled into a creamy powder with soft vanilla and hazelnut notes. Whisk it into a latte, blend it into smoothies, bake it into Sunday pancakes. One ingredient. Nothing added. Drinkable at 9pm.
Ube isn't a trend with a syrup. It's a root vegetable the Philippines has loved for centuries, and it happens to be the most delicious thing you can put in a mug without caffeine.
Ube's starch granules are small and dense, so they break down gradually. That's where the steady, even lift comes from. No jitters, no 3pm crash, no lying awake.
6.5g of fibre per 100g and naturally rich in resistant starch, the stuff your good gut bacteria love to feed on. Prebiotic by nature, not by a lab.
That deep purple is anthocyanin, the same plant pigment found in blueberries and blackcurrants. We don't add colour. The yam brings its own.
Soft vanilla and hazelnut notes with zero added sugar. It doesn't need syrup, it doesn't need honey, it doesn't need anything. Just milk.
Flip the bag and read the back. It says organic ube powder and then it stops. No fillers, no flavourings, no sneaky sugar, no colouring. Our purple yam is grown and harvested in the Philippines, gently dried at low temperatures, finely milled and sealed under GMP standards. Every batch is independently lab tested before it ships.
We love coffee. We just don't love it at 4pm. Here's how a YumYam latte stacks up against the usual suspects.

No cooking, no barista course. If you can make a cup of tea, you can make this.
Add 1 teaspoon (4g) of YumYam to your mug. Splash in a little hot water, not boiling, to wake the powder up.
Use your free frother to whisk it into a smooth, glossy purple paste. Ten seconds. Zero lumps.
Top up with oat, almond, coconut or dairy milk. Hot and frothy, or over ice. Want it dessert-strength? Make it two teaspoons.
One bag, a whole menu. Ube behaves beautifully in anything creamy, frozen or baked.

Every bag comes with our recipe card. Subscribers get a new recipe every Sunday.
Every order of YumYam comes with a handheld electric milk frother, completely free. Whisks your ube into a silky paste, foams your milk like a café, and rinses under the tap. It's the difference between "nice" and "wait, you made this at home?"
Drop in your ube, pour your milk, tap the gold button. A magnetic whirlpool blends everything into a perfect purple swirl while you get on with your morning. Borosilicate glass so you can watch the colour bloom, brushed-gold base, USB-C rechargeable.
I was a two-coffees-after-lunch person. Swapped the second one for a YumYam latte and the afternoon slump just… didn't come. Tastes like vanilla custard, honestly.
I've been burned by "superfood" blends with 30 ingredients and mystery "natural flavours". This is literally purple yam and nothing else. The free frother is decent too, better than the one I paid for.
Grew up on ube in Manila so I'm fussy. Most powders taste chalky or fake-sweet. This is the real thing, and the colour in oat milk is unreal.
Zero caffeine means the kids can have it too. Sunday pancakes are now purple and nobody is complaining. Subscription means I never run out.
Made an iced one with oat milk and a squeeze of honey. Genuinely nicer than the one from the coffee shop and about a fifth of the price per cup.
Got through the first bag in three weeks. Now it just turns up every month. Paused it once while I was away and it took ten seconds.
A shop-made ube latte is £5 to £6 and usually built from a sweetened syrup. One bag of YumYam makes about 25 real ones. Both options include your free frother and free UK delivery.
Softly sweet, a little nutty, with gentle vanilla notes. Think custard-meets-hazelnut, more delicate than the ube ice cream you may have tried. It doesn't taste like a vegetable, and it doesn't taste like taro either (they're not related).
Neither. YumYam has 0mg caffeine and 0g added sugar. The subtle sweetness (about 7.5g per 100g, or 0.3g in a cup) occurs naturally in the yam. It's the warm latte you can drink after dinner and still sleep fine.
About 25 everyday cups at 1 teaspoon (4g), or around 12 if you like the richer, dessert-style two-teaspoon cup. Most people land somewhere in between, which is why the monthly subscription works out neatly.
No. Whisk a teaspoon with a splash of hot (not boiling) water into a glossy purple paste, then top with your milk of choice. Your free frother makes this a ten-second job. It also works straight into smoothies, porridge, yoghurt, pancake batter and bakes.
A handheld electric frother with a stainless steel whisk, worth £14.99, included free with every bag whether you buy once or subscribe. It's yours to keep even if you return the powder.
A fresh 100g bag arrives every month for £23 instead of £30, with free UK delivery. You can pause, skip a month or cancel any time from your account in one click. No minimum term, no awkward phone call.
No, and they're not even related. Ube (Dioscorea alata) is a yam that's purple all the way through and tastes sweet and vanilla-ish. Taro is white with purple flecks and tastes starchy. If your latte is pale grey, that's taro. If it's vivid purple, that's ube.
Every order is covered by our 60-day happiness guarantee. Not for you? Email hello@yumyam.co.uk with your order number within 60 days of delivery and we'll refund you in full. No questions, no return fees, and you keep the frother.
